History of Mulago SWNH

Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital (MSWNH) is seated on 24,000 square meters opposite the main Mulago Referral Hospital Complex, the hospital was set up to provide highly specialized reproductive and neonatal health services for referred patients and also to reduce referrals abroad.

The Hospital was constructed to support the strategies of the Government of Uganda for the development of the health sector and contribute to the reduction in maternal and neonatal mortalities through improvement of healthcare services delivery. It provides quality reproductive and neonatal health care to mainly referred patients and enhances training plus research.

Since its opening in September 2018, the number of patients seen has steadily increased as has their appreciation of the services received and the ambience within which they are cared for. This growth has been mainly due to the dedicated team of our specialists and the support staff at the hospital and most importantly our Patients/Clients who have endlessly entrusted us with their health issues.
